Right now our Government is often beholden to highly paid corporate lobbyists who get special access to our leaders. To fix this the Government plans a mandatory register for lobbyists who meet MP's, officials and ministers, but its proposals have loopholes the size of Big Ben, allowing three quarters of the lobbyists to continue their shady trade in Secret. The Government knows that there is a problem and has drafted a proposal to tackle lobbyists, but the proposals would exempt the majority of the lobbying industry as powerful in-house lobbyists would not need to register.
